Well I finally got fed up and disconnected the second router from the system completely -- and problem is gone. I put a wireless card in the other PC I had in my office so I could still get on the net with that one.

Educate me about LCD's
I am about done with the CRT's. The one I am using now is an Envision 19" model that is threatening failure (monitor glitches sometimes and right/left edges compress; have to smack the side of the monitor to fix). I am thinking about "upgrading" to an LCD but have a few questions...

Upgraded to Windows 2000 Pro SP4 from Win98SE and now Standby and Hibernate are MIA
I have two PC's that were running Win98 SE OS because of legacy software that was installed that wouldn't run in a WinXP environment. I recently discovered this legacy software would run in a Win2000 SP4 environment so I upgraded both machines.

Is there any way to remove the KB911562 MDAC 2.8 Security Update and restore MDAC?
I have traced one of my older software problems to the April 2006 update release from MS for MDAC 2.8 in Windows 98 SE. Trouble is, to find this out I had to delete my Windows directory from the HDD on one PC and reinstall Win 98 SE. I have another machine running the same OS and I don't want to do ...

.NET Framework issues in Windows 98 SE
I have an older laptop that is running older software programs that simply won't work with Windows XP; so upgrading to a newer OS is out of the question. Some of the newer programs I have on this laptop use .NET framework. About 3 or 4 months ago (best guess) something got onto my computer (MS ...

Stupid OE6 nag prompts; how do I get rid of them?
Every time I am in Outlook Express 6 and go to switch identities, I always get a nag popup window wanting to know if I want to keep the current connection to the internet for the next email identity. Is there any way I can keep this dumb thing from popping up?

CPU Temps: is 61 deg C too hot for P-D 820?
Just built this system recently and installed 5 case fans. Using the Intel Pentium D 820 2.8ghz dual-core. I have heard these things run pretty hot but I am curious as to how much is too hot. Playing most games I have not been able to get the CPU temp to go above 58 deg C but I just decoded a DVD ...

Now that I have this intel EM64-T enabled processor; any advantage upgrading to XP64?
I see that Microsoft has released a "new" OS, supposidly written specifically for 64-bit applications. (Windows XP Professional x64). Right now I have Windows XP Pro SP2. Since I have the Pentium D 820 dual-core EM64-T processor; would there be any advantage to upgrading to the XP-64 OS?

Quick question about CPU temp sensor placement
I just got an ASYS Robot X-60 500w case and it comes with one of those LCD displays that show CPU temp. Inside the case it has what looks like a very thin CPU temp sensor on the end of two wires marked "cpu". However, I did not get an instruction manual with this case so I need to know exactly where ...
