I just got an ASYS Robot X-60 500w case and it comes with one of those LCD displays that show CPU temp. Inside the case it has what looks like a very thin CPU temp sensor on the end of two wires marked "cpu". However, I did not get an instruction manual with this case so I need to know exactly where this sensor needs to go.
I am going to use the Pentium D 2.8 Ghz dual-core processor with the heatsink and fan that comes with it.
thanks in advance.
Quick question about CPU temp sensor placement
Yes, there did appear to be something like a piece of tape enclosed in a small zip-lock bag attached to the case wiring. I just wanted to make sure the thickness of the sensor wasn't going to interfere with the heat transfer between the processor and heatsink.vvarrior wrote:ya and I don't know if it came with any but you can slap it on with adhesive tape.

Umm this would be a no no!! If you run that wire with the sensor under the heatsink the compond your using wont be in good contact between the core and the heatsink thus could cause your CPU to burn up!! Just stick it down between the heatsinks on the top or stick it the side. You should get pretty close of readings as to what your bios reads.
