Why don't you just use CutePDF writer? It sets up like a virtual printer and instead of actually printing the document, it converts your doc to a .pdf file and you rename and save it in whatever location you want. Sounds similar to what you mentioned on your first post. It's free and easy.

better cpu or vid card?

Pricing out my new system and had a question. Basically, here are the choices:

1. Intel C2D E6550 + GeForce 8600GTS

or

2. Intel C2D E4500 + ATI Radeon HD3850

I'm a light gamer, mostly MMORPGs, and I do like to do some mild overclocking. And as you can see from my sig, I expect a build to last me ...

I have a Westell 6100 running to a Sonicwall TZ 150 and my work comp and personal comp behind that. I did a windows repair install and now my personal comp can't access the internet. Everything is cool with the drivers, etc. and it says I'm connected, but no go. I do know the modem is in bridge mode ...

I recently started having problems with the old trusty ATI Radeon 9600 Pro. Every time I reboot, I have to reinstall drivers to get the thing recognized in device manager. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, done the DriverCleaner hokey pokey and nothing works.

Just wondering if this is a software ...

Looks like your case can handle 4 80mm fans, 2 in front and 2 in back. Ideally, the fronts the should pull in air and the back fans exhaust it out. If you have different speed fans put the faster ones in the rear of the case. And be sure to tidy up your HD cables and power wires.

That's because you're running PC1600 mem vs PC2100 in the example. If you're running different brands/speeds of ram, you need to make sure the memory timings are set to the slowest memory you have. Download memtest86 and run it overnight before you buy a new ps.

I'd put another 64MB stick in there and grab a 5400rpm notebook HD for it. (I'm assuming it's got a 4200 rpm'er in there.) You can get a Samsung 40GB with 8MB cache for $68 at Newegg. That way you're doubling the ram and speeding up the slowest component for the same price as one stick of 128 MB ram.

I would go ahead and RMA the ram before I did anything else. You're only out a little time.

Like Yard says, these boards are picky about ram. I wouldn't futz around with different bios versions.

Yep, I have an early board myself, rev 1.04 I believe. Although they were advertised as 200mhz, not many could reach it. I believe when the C2 revision of the northbridge came out, the board "officially" supported 200 FSB.

PC2100 ain't gonna run at a 166 FSB! PC2100 runs at 133. For that processor you should be running it at 133 FSB x 15 mulitiplier.

Take everything out but the 512mb stick of PC2100, go into the bios and set the FSB to 133 and the multi to 15, then boot up.
