What Is The Highest You've Ever Overclocked Your Processor

When I say "highest", I don't mean completely stable, I mean stable enough to boot into windows, and maybe benchmark. And, by highest, it's a per-CPU thing. An athlon isn't going to get as many GHz as a P4, plain and simple.

Highest I've gone was with my trusty 1600+. I've had it stable enough to benchmark at 2.18GHz. It was benching /just/ under a 3200+. However, I keep it at...

Stable as a rock. And, that 2.016V is slightly off, it's really just a little lower, however still above 2V.

I got a 56% o/c with p4 1.6A that I ran at 2.5 ghz and it was fairly stable but crashed in games.

i can get my barton 3000+ to almost 2.6
P4 2.26 to 2.6
p4 2.5 to 2.8
p4 2.6 to 3.2

old duron 800mhz got uptp 900mhz with a 173fsb back in the day

no offence to anyone but what good is a overclock if it isn't stable, i mean that really isn't an overclock if it can't run that speed.

i mean i can run my system higher than i do but i error in F@H so what good does it do ?

sure i can post higher but that don't realy mean nothing, does it.

no patience for o/c'g anymore but i did get it 3.6 stable at one time...reset it back when i reinstalled windows and never messed with it again.

no good really, he just asked

that 1.6 ran 2.4 (50%) all day long at default voltage but sucked ass past that though.

Is it possible to overclock a dell dimension 8300? I was told it wasn't because of
the dell bios. Is that true? I look to the experts.

its actually not impossible but will require knowledge of possibly bending or breaking off pins and/or wiring pins with tiny pcs of copper wire

Not useful at all, just about the numbers.

I've been running my old T'bred 1700+ at 175 x 12.5 = 2192 (cpuid) for quite some time. I have no doubt it could go higher because I'm only running it at +.1 volts and I like to keep it under 50c at load.

I have a P4 2.6C that runs rock stable at 3.38
Can't get my P4 3.0C to run stable past 3.4 though, to me, a good overclock is one that is rock stable, no lockups, even in benchmarks or gaming for 12 hours straight at a LAN party. Simply posting BIOS at something higher, or just getting to Windows desktop, means nothing to me. Gotta run rock solid under full load under all normal circumstances.

grr....right now have my barton 2500+ at 2800+...2.08Ghz I think...190FSB. Seems stable just surfing the net + F@H

At 200FSB it reboots during loading windows. at 195FSB it crashes if I load up Folding@Home

So the highest is 3200+ speeds, but it's useless.....the 2800+ seems to be stable as of now....big whoop compared to you guys.

barton 2500 @ 185 fsb totally stable.. memory @ 2.5 3 3 7 = 2040Mhz

i can post at 200 fsb but its running over 40c then and it ussually crashes after like 15minutes.

I had my Barton 2500+ at 200FSB for about a year now and it hasn't crashed on me once. That's as high as my mobo can go and I can't adjust voltages on this mobo.

at 2520 but not prime95 stable yet, i still need to do a few things and have a new heatsink/fan on order, i think it needs more v-core.
