What I miss is the hyperthreading. I can't stand that if I attempt to encode video or rip dvd's while I'm playing a game, one of the apps is going to suffer.

Hyperthread, shmyperthead. You got a socket 939. Wait for the dual cores to come out later this year.

You can use your uber laptop for the video stuff till then.

Hyperthreading is wonderful, makes a big difference.

I'm sure someone here will suggest a good combo, but look into an Intel EE processor if you want the ultimate in overclocking capability.

Well highest P4 I've had is a 2.8 I haven't owned anything higher... with this new comp I'm building now I'm going with the AMD 939 socket as well I believe its the best besides going to the 940.

I hope it will perform well which I'm sure I'll have to mess around with OCing and so forth.
