last known good doesnt do the trick.....and the thing wont boot into safe mode either.

reloading is looking more like the route to go here.

im also thinking its time to try out Unbuntu.

XP fails to complete booting after autoupdate install

i installed the autoupdates from MS today........there were 2 of them.

1 for AEC.SYS......this was to fix a bluescreen issue

2 not sure what patch KB##### it was but it was a security fix.

after the reboot to complete the install......it gets to the splash screen and then acts like its going to ...

can anyone else see the potential benifits that wireless mesh integrated cars would provide during evacuations like whats happening right now with RITA heading towards texas / louisiana?

if centrally attached....they could get specific routing info from a "central server" telling them all the best ...

ok....my g/f got a new kick ass widescreen monitor.......it comes with the vga cable.......
it has dvi input on it.

beware that if you get vonage and decide to drop it....they DO CHARGE 40.00 disconnect PER LINE.
i found out the hard way.

unless you need dialup or to get or send faxes over your landline.....why keep any home phone?
i dropped mine about a year ago and dont miss it at all.

i just built a PVR and im using beyond TV3.
there are some little bugs in it, but it really does a great job at handling all the recording of the system once you get it together.
and it gives you free guide updates

i do believe the issue was panda.......however i dont even have any of that equipment anymore.

i have since seen panda cause some apps to break and cause i-net connection issues because of their firewall.

ive got windows media center edition.

i dont think the onboard video will cut it to run media center edition.

the enclosure is probably junked out......try it on another machine ....and in a couple different usb ports.....and try a different usb cable

its been my experience with these ext enclosures that they are truly plug and play.....i havent had to mess with drivers to get one working except for with ...

When you say "data package" do you mean hardware or something they do to yer service? I have Verizon and I had to buy a special cable for the phone to make it a BLAZING 14.4 analog modem, didn't have to do a thing to the service itself.

as it sits....my phone is totally able to act as a bluetooth ...

I'm guessing that data uses more bandwidth than simple voice comm.

recently i tried to get my cell phone hooked up to my laptop as a bluetooth modem.

for those instances where i am obviously not near a hotspot or any kind of broadband connection. (and that is very very few and far between)

i was able to make the connection and use the phone as a modem.....only to ...
