automobile wireless mesh networks....why not now!

Post by AMPLIFRIER »

can anyone else see the potential benifits that wireless mesh integrated cars would provide during evacuations like whats happening right now with RITA heading towards texas / louisiana?

if centrally attached....they could get specific routing info from a "central server" telling them all the best way for that paticular individual car to go.

instantly adapt to broken down cars and reroute others on the fly!

even make adjustments based on when any paticular car will need fuel and have a pump open when it rolls into the station

sounds a little like TCP/IP doesnt it?

i keep hearing about this technology...but as with everything else.........advancements seem to not be able to come fast enough for my liking......ill be dead in 50 years or so if im overly lucky.

if i can get a ride into orbit before i die...ill be happy.

sorry...rambling now.

I like the way you think but at the same time the dehumanization of the decision-making process disturbs me.

there is always that aspect of things to consider as well.

you could also think of it in terms of......we have simply advanced enough to figure out how to pass the task off to a machine.

but man.....think about it......no more D.U.I.'s you could actually spend ALL the time you spend in your car making calls or getting some work done on your pc or watch tv......sending and receiving all of it over some future version of WiMax or whatever is next.
