just for being quick I ended up using the backITup from nero to burn to DVDs. I think it would have been faster to get the ghost working on the ext. HD but I just need the backup and had the time so.

the image my prof had was only for using it in VMWare. so I have just download the Linux 9 CDs from linuxiso.org and I will now try and install from the CDs.

I would be planing on doing backups that way yes. but if I can't get into windows for some reason what am I to do then???? no floppy drive and the ghost CD itself is not a boot CD so??????

Finaly fix it. SP2 had disabled NetBIOS over TCP/IP. I had a look over my System log in Event Viewer from the Admin tools. I found an error with the MRxSub source, so that pointed me to the NetBIOS not being active.

after doing a little work today and trying to get my laptop to connect with my friends via a cross-over cable. I think I found the answer, the Visual Studio .NET (for my ASP.NET class) has my computer setup as a server.

I can't remeber what ICS means, we needed to get are laptops to have a key installed so we would be let on the network if that is what you mean. in rez it would just be the firewall.

this is a big problum for @home, your getting booted off the server, it all them on not your computer. this can happen for one of two things, big amouts of upload/download from your connection or they have too many connections for there server to handle.

OK, its an old IBM 233MHz intel P I, I think its a phonix BIOS, I don't think I can give you more then that right now.

but I did try the RAM out in anther computer and found it to be blown, so I think it is just giving me the error becouse there is no working RAM in the computer. sound right?
