boot-up problums

hey, I getting 1, 3, 1 beeps when I boot up on a computer that I'm making into a Linux box, this would be a "RAM Refresh Verification Error" I have tryed new RAM and two difrent morthboard, what wrong?????

OK, its an old IBM 233MHz intel P I, I think its a phonix BIOS, I don't think I can give you more then that right now.

but I did try the RAM out in anther computer and found it to be blown, so I think it is just giving me the error becouse there is no working RAM in the computer. sound right?

ya, it means there was a failure in the 1st 1MB of RAM

well if the ram is blown then u need to start there, there is a possibility that something caused the ram to blow, ie. mobo.
