Go with the NIC. USB can have more than one dissadvantage. Among these if you unplug it from the computer and plug it in to a different slot your reloading the drivers. NIC's are more dependable and faster

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this is common. Until they get the upgrade done in your area.How long will it take them that is prety much determined by the size of the town you live in and what the state of the cable plant is in. It could take to months to two years.

yes it is download speed and not that of just a web page. The question is can your provider and or your system sustain the connection. 100 to 300 kili Bytes or 800 to 2400 bits can and will vary greatly by server and time of day.

Yep thats what we thought to. If you put it in static,no go. also a diferent computer on the same conection works. I agree it like the DNS server(s) were down but its not. This is isolated to windoze or IE.

The card can easily support faster speeds than that. its possible that yours is bad. Also check you registry settings, the cap on service in your are. and last but not least that the cable in your area is affecting performance

another option to fix those errors is to uninstall everything to do with the modem. reboot. get Norton works run it to fix windows problems. it will correct those there errors. reboot. pluging modem. install software....
