1. can you browse in netscape??
2. can you browse by ip address? like the ip for cnet is 216.200.247.131 if you can browse with it you have a dns or winsock issue
3. r you set static or dynamic have you tried to ping your dns servers to see if they r up............and checked to see it the correct ...

well hate to give you bad news but if you r on cox in Va and all you have is slow speeds then you might need to consider yourself lucky
im not saying this is acceptable at all but cox will do nothing for you for about the next 2-3 months at least till they get all of their transition issues solved ...

a dns foward will poll your isp from time to time to determain what your ip address is that is assigned to your computer name (dhcp client id) and then will direct your domain like http://www.bob.com to your ip address

SHAW is almost entirely off of @Home already............Rogers is getting there but i saw a report many of their subs with LanCity modems were having trouble connecting suddenly today
