2x 74GB Raptors

Hey all. I have some Raptors coming fresh off an RMA and am wondering if anyone was interested. They are the 74GB 10,000RPM 16MB cache models. Should be here in the next few days for me to test then send out. Looking for something like $75 each or $140 for both. Thanks :)

Any Developers Looking for Some Extra Work?

Hey, I'm in a tight spot so I gotta think outside the box.

Recently we've been getting more and more busy around the web studio. Recently I got word that we have a huge workload on us, but mainly for just the next two to three weeks. The issue is that in addition to a higher than average number of ...

For just dorking around on your own desktop I'd agree...trying any old various driver wouldn't hurt. For production environments..where you want full server stability...I'd never do that...this is where many issues can arise.

Absolutely. But on server, considering that you shouldn't find a gaming ...

While they wont be 'certified' for the OS, you can install most any driver that is for Vista in the respective 32 or 64 bit flavor. I run Server 2k8 on both my desktop and laptop and agree that it is certainly snappier. In addition I do some casual gaming on my desktop at times and have no issues ...

Those are great choices. Another card you might look at is the 8800GTS 512 based on the G92 core. AFAIK it's pretty much the best buy from nVidia right now. On average it's about 12% faster than the 8800GT so the decision is up to you, but I thought I'd give you the info.

IMHO, if anything, Windows 7 is going to use MORE RAM than Vista does. Why? Because it's cheaply available, easy to upgrade, and easy to scale with. They could easily implement a system (and have, called Super Fetch) that uses your available memory, however much or little it may be, to increase ...

True, but is there any reason to migrate for the casual user? Migrate? Not really any pressing reason. But there is no reason to avoid it. What, with the average PC life being about 3 years you'll sooner than later run into purchasing a PC with it, and that's not a bad thing.

If you have it ...

Try clearing your bios completely by removing the CMOS battery and letting the mobo sit there for a minute.

It might turn out that setting the board to factory defaults in BIOS isn't the same as a CMOS clear with the jumper.

The defaults would be to have power saving features enabled.
