Have not moved 1 client to it....probably will not until towards the end of this year.

Similar to when Vista came out...who wants to "find" bugs and quirks and other issues before they get resolved? And the various software package that clients run their businesses on...not being supported yet on '08 because their support hasn't tested it or approved it yet. Network printers/drivers too.

I usually wait closer until a service pack is out.

2000 was a great server.. lighter in resources then 2003..
not to say that 2003 isn't nice.. it will probally be a while till people switch to 2008, seeing how
Vista has left more of a bad mark on M$.

We haven't migrated any of our servers to 2008 because there frankly are not enough benefits to outweigh the work involved in migrating. That said I actually use S2008 as my workstation OS every day and I'd say that by all means it's a good OS. If you readup about S2008 as a workstation OS you'll see many tests indicating a mysterious speed increase in various operations. It's being touted as Microsoft's best OS ever.

Yeah I sometimes run a server OS on my laptop...probably going to wipe out the Vista install that's currently on my dual boot laptop (w/PCLinux)..and replace with 2K8. The server os's can run surprisingly snappy when just in member role and not performing infrastructure duties.
