there is no clicking noise and the bios does recognize the drive (when the comp loads and doing its checks it see the drive)

i dont have an identical drive but i think i have and external USB Drive somewhere...ill give this a try.
I was talking to a co-work and he suggested it could also be a burnt ...

Hi Everyone,
I installed Win 7 64 bit back in February.
All of a sudden this weekend it decided to have a SMART Error which is related to a Boot/BCD issue. Nothing was changed or installed that would of affected the drive.

ok. i didnt see that. i guess i really dont need that whole cable management thing. I think I will go with the OCZ one. its more in my price range and i think it will last me a while! all i really wanna do is add a tv tunner card and maybe a sound card in the future. in a year or so then ill upgrade ...

let me know if im wrong, but the 12v rails on the enermax liberty are rated at 22A and the OCZ 700w one that you booked marked is only 18A. so in this case wouldnt the Liberty be better?

really. only 510. but it says 650w peak so that would be good. it lists it at $199. for that price i could pop for a 750w with cable management or 149 will get me that 610w.

just a little reminder to keep your PC dust free (or as close to dust free as possible). I just cleaned my PC out (from months of neglect) and my idle temps dropped down from 50-52 degrees Celsius to 47-48 degrees.

i thought that i would share that with ya'll (cuz of the 4 degrre drop in temp JUST ...

i just put the 512mb in DDR slot 1 and the 256mb in DDR slot 3 and it recognize the 768 mb RAM...so i guess that i fit into that 10% eh!....thanxs guys, none the less, for your help!

i just got a stick of Hynix 512 mb DDR2100!
coupled with my stick of 256 crutial/micor should be giving me 768mb eh!

no...at first it was only registering 640 mb in the bios....then i switched the RAM in differnet slots....now its only registering the 512 mb in the bios

what could be the prob?

well right now with FS2002 it tends to get choppy with my curretn system (see below)...but in a few weeks i'm gonna upgrade my harddrive to a WD 120 GB 8mb cache drive and from 256mb of RAM to 512 or 768mb of RAM...so hopefullythat will improve things alot!

Oh and my 1.2 t-bird is running at 1 ...

It was mentioned here before (because this news is nothing really "new" anymore been reported about 2-3 wks ago) that most, if not all, vid card makers have travelled down the same road at one point and time. And yes, sadly even ATi has been convicted in the past, sorry....

atleast ATI isn't ...

By Nvidia trying to pull this stunt off they must think that we are stupid or something and that they can con us into purchasing and Nvidia card over the ATI or another company thinking that if we go with them we will have the better/faster card. lets not forget that this is the first generation of AMD's new design. So i wouldn't be making any judgements just yet. Give it till the second generation or even third and AMD gould make the Opterton (and eventually Athlon 64) a lot better and faster!

You'll notice a big difference with both more RAM and a faster hard drive.


yeah...a new HD and RAM are all that i can afford right now....down the road i wanna upgrade from my GeForce 2 GTS 64mb to a Radeon 9500 or 9600...down the road!

for Serial ATA i would wait for the next generation (rate at 300 mb/sec) for it to be worthwhile and the price comes down a bit (not that its too much of difference between IDE and SATA drives)!

pertaining to the RAM....my mobo' manual (ASUS A7V 266) said that it supporst 2.5 Volt unbuffered/registered DDR SDRAM and that they support non-ECC memory

i'm just curious what the difference is between unbuffered/registered non-ECC memory and buffered/non-registered ECC memory (PC2100)

Personally I am not a big fan of the "all in ones". The reason is that is something goes wrong with it ... you may end up having to scrap it due to the cost of repairing it. If you had 3 separate items ... it would be easier to replace one piece.

Thats why i was thinking of getting the Dell one ...
