Media Centre

Post by mvern2 »

Hey all. I have been thinking about this for sometime now and Im going threw a bit of a dilemma.

Right now as it stands i have my PC hooked up to my 32inch LCDTV via an HDMI cable. I keep having to switch from my PC monitor to my TV when i want to watch downloaded content. I have been looking at a few option.

1. Build a separt/cheap media centre PC
2. Xbox 360
3. Apple TV
4. Media Extender

Im just running Windows XP, i dont have the MCE. ultimately i jsut want something that will pull downloaded content from my PC and make it avaible to watch on my TV without me having to switch from my TV to my Monitor.

Any suggestions?

get a videocard with 2 dvi connections, 1 for monitor and one for tv.
for tv use dvi (videocard) on one end and hdmi on other end.
then change it in nvidia display settings to clone.

 I have them connected both, using this setup for quite a few years ( and quite a few different video cards), what you are talking about ?
