Keep 'em Dust Free!

Post by mvern2 »

just a little reminder to keep your PC dust free (or as close to dust free as possible). I just cleaned my PC out (from months of neglect) and my idle temps dropped down from 50-52 degrees Celsius to 47-48 degrees.

i thought that i would share that with ya'll (cuz of the 4 degrre drop in temp JUST from cleaning out my dusty PC with a good 'ol can-o-air!

Happy dusting!!!

Good advice, a couple days ago I did just that with my primary machine.

I awoke to a lound screaming noise only to find it was one of my fans in my computer that was doing the screaming. I guess the ball bearings gave out or something.

Anyways while replacing the fan I utilized the opportunity to just go ahead and give my PC a nice dusting out. So I cleaned all the fan filters, and blew the dust out. It wasn't bad inside, thanks to the fan filters, but there was still some dust to blow out.

All clean now.
