raid 1 question
I've been running raid for quite a while now, and a question popped into my head.
I've never had this problem before. I'm getting prepared just incase ;)
How do I monitor the integrity of the mirrored drives?
How would I know which drive is about to fail or on the verge of failing?
*edit ...

Eh while the idea half makes sense....laptops are all different. CPU's located "here" on one laptop, hard drive located "there". CPU HSF intakes located in different spots. Cooler platforms like the one linked above...I can't see them blowing air to the appropriate spots on most laptops, what it ...

Wireless routers need a "line of site" in order to get optimal throughput and signal. You'll be sacrificing bandwidth and signal if you're too far away from the WAP or in minimal "line of site" (eg. too many walls and far away).
I would suggest a quality 54g router. With the functionality of 256 ...

U.S. Robotics 802.11g Wireless Turbo Router model USR8054
I haven't had any problems with it yet, configured it once and a couple of months later it hasn't even rebooted. Range is good. Thoughput is good as well (able to achieve up to 100Mbp if WAP is enabled). Just waiting for USR to release WPA ...
