there are 4 wires. white/blue blue white/orange orange
can some tell me which wire goes to what pin no. of the rj45?

both sides of the cable have to be matched up in order for it to be a straight through cable , so you can connect it to your hub or modem.

are the wires twisted?

if so untwist one side of the cable and line them up so there are 8 small wires (crimp to rj45 connector)...do the same thing to the other end of the cable but this time match up the colors with the other end.

eg.
w/or, or, w/gr, br, w/br , gr, bl/w, br ===== w/or, or, w/gr, br, w/br , gr, bl/w, br

(both ends are the same)
