so the GF and I are doing Yoga

Post by Blisster »

and I gotta say Whoa! I can't believe how sore I am after just 2 classes. Whoda thought standing around and kneeling and doing these crazy poses would make muscles I've never even felt before SCREAM. We did a class Saturday morning and I had more energy that day than I've felt in a long time. I think I like this.

Anybody else here do any yoga?

The better half does it... she says it's wonderful. It's also her only source of exercise... any exercise is wonderful.

I figure that my current routine is quite good. When my new bike arrives this friday, it'll get even better and when I start my new hobby of hiking this sunday it'll be just about perfect.

When I find that I'm no longer making any progress then I'll consider alternative exercise means such as yoga. Maybe tai chi. In the meantime, I don't think much of anything else is going to do anything :)

I've heard Yoga is excellent for you. Its one of the few low or no impact excercises I would consider trying. I usually resort to jogging & weight lifting. Odd combo I know. I just don't want to have all that muscle and not have a healthy cardio....

I do some, for stretching the ham strings, and back muscles....It helps. It sounds dumb but after problems all last year, in January, I added one of them big balls for some lower back work and neck work. Man do I feel better. They work on the smaller muscles connecting the spine, and in conjunction with a few yoga moves..I'm getting very good results.

LOL yeah, it is a bit sad eh? But it seems to be the way of jsut about any forum I've ever frequented...one mention of Girlfriend, sister, mom, daughter, masseuse or escort and the whole forum starts crying out for pics.

It's a 'new' road bike, 12 speed, very old make. New as in it's never been ridden, it's old stock and cost 1/3 of the price of the cheapest modern model new road bike.

I just wanted a road bike that'll hold together for 100-200km at a time, I don't care if it's weighs twice as much as the fancy new models and doesn't have fancy brake gear shifters :) I had no problems with my old bike weight wise and I've spent the last 6 weeks doing leg weights for the first time in my life, I don't think it'll cause any major hassles.

Oh I know Faust. I'm not and wasn't worried about it one bit. It was just funny because I showed that thread to her and that's when she asked me to please not post pictures of her without her approval (mostly a vanity thing, as she wants to be in charge of QC for the pics that I post :) ) . I was just responding to Burkes comment.

Time for Yoga, catch ya on the flip side!!!
