Acronis TrueImage 7.0 will let you back up an entire partition and span it across CD or DVD. It also has an explorer utility so you can browse through the archive.

Does the CD have a bunch of fingerprints on it? I've had the same error today copying some files from a few DVD's that have data on them that I got from a friend. His grubby, oily fingerprints are all over the data side of the disc.

I cleaned the discs up and no more CRC's transferring data :)

You need to patch RPC (Remote Procedure Call) on your system. Either run Windows Update or download the patch seperately from Microsoft.

You should also run a virus scan because you may have the Blaster Worm. You can use Symantec's fix/removal tool HERE.

If you have a 12-gauge, go buy some Bird Bombs. They fire an M80 type projectile out about 100 yards then detonate. Great way to scare wildlife away without causing unnecessary injury or death.

If you want to create a image file with the .ISO extension, use a program like WinISO. Extract all the files into a directory and use WinISO to build the image file using the .ISO extension.

I believe there are some other image building utilities, but I've always had excellent results with WinISO ...

You might also want to assign a matte color to the image in the Save for Web dialog. You want a matte that is either the same color as the background the image will be placed on or an average sampling if it's on a background that is a pattern.

Copying TrueType fonts with the .TTF fonts into OSX work with or without the extension. Both methods work flawlessly on two of my OS X boxes, one running Panther and the other running Jaguar.

Shouldn't make a difference. Prior to OS X, TrueType fonts where fully supported in MacOS 9 and fully supported in OS X as well, even while running MacOS 9 in Classic Mode. Are you installing them to System | Library | Fonts folder? That gives access to every user on that computer. You can also install them to Macintosh HD | Users | <username> | Library | Fonts for individual user use.

Using TrueType fonts in OSX require no conversion.

What OS are you running? It's possible that you have a corrupt TCP/IP stack. This is a common symptom in this case, where you can ping from command line and not access web pages from the browser.

Also, are you running any modified HOSTS files?
