Motherboard Advice !
Im thinking about upgrading my motherboard but theres that many out there to choose from... anyone advise? or recommend one. if you can provide a link also then that would be a help.
must be for a P4 3.2Ghz and be able to hold upto 3Gb of memory, cost is not so important as quality and performance. i dont use the pc for anything special just the normal stuff.
i look forward to your replies....

Asus P4P800 i865
Or...if you want firewire, P4P800 Deluxe.
Can be found for 110 to 115 bucks, I've built many computers with this mobo already, use it myself also...absolutely fantastic board.
The 865 Springdale chipset is, IMHO, the best out there for the home user, only topped by the 875 Canterwood chipset. Main difference is the 875 supports ECC RAM, not a factor for the home user.

I'm about to purchase an MSI 865PE Neo2-FIS2R. Why MSI? I own three other MSI boards after being long time ASUS and ABIT customers and the others can't match MSI's quality, value and performance in my opinion.
My decision is also based upon lots of research and a close friends purchase of the board who says it's the fastest 865P board he's seen to date. I consider him a qualified source as he's the lead tech and builder for a very large local computer shop.
The MSI 875P Neo-FIS2R suffers from some nasty stability issues that MSI hasn't quite got worked out yet. You might want to check out the Tom's hardware review of all the 865 chipset boards.

I simply could not have said it better myself *claps*

I'm an Asus fan, but my nForce board is an MSI...gotta say zero issues with it. MSI was one of the first out of the gates with an nForce board when they first came out...so me not wanting to wait another couple of weeks for the Asus board to hit the market...I got the MSI one. Still running strong.
But back to the P4P800, I've built several boxes with that board (including my own)...must say, probably the best board I've had. Well, the Asus CUSL2-C Black Pearl Limited Edition was also an awesome board, back in the PIII days. Gold plated HS on the north bridge.
