XP sfc /scannow

XP sfc /scannow

when i run this command sfc /scannow do i have to put the
xp cd for this specific machine or any xp cd?
i can not find the xp cd of my machine so i tried to run it with another copy of xp. it keeps asking me put the xp pro cdrom.
or i have another problem that doesnt let me run the sfc

It's checking what type the CD is (OEM, Retail, Upgrade, Corporate) and if doesn't match what's installed it won't run I believe.

This is not correct....

You need to slipstream the current service packs and hotfix's into a new cd for it to work.

Don't stress it. I'm not sure this is even documented. The only reason I know is because of trial and error with this same exact problem.
