yep. 16x represents the physical limitations regarding of the drive itself (not the drive's onboard interface controller).

ata/66 is the throughput limitation of the drive's interface controller.

yes. anything you can do to a striped array you can do to a regular volume (i.e. dual boot, partitions, etc). as far as your computer past the RAID controller is concerned, its just another hard drive.

those look very similar to the Antec SX1030.

yes there are IDE RAID as well as SCSI RAID controllers. if you have 2 or more identical hard drives when i would also suggest looking into an IDE RAID controller. they are a little more expensive (~$70 to $90 for an ATA100 RAID controller), and can also be used as a regular IDE controller.

the first place i would check is the manufacturer. failing that, i would check some place like http://www.windrivers.com or http://www.driverguide.com .

well, the RAM timing values (6-1-1-1R 4-1-1-1W 3-3-3CL) are independant of the parity or ECC function, so its still kinda up in the air (whether its ECC, parity or non-parity).

i am not sure as to why the information showed in my screen(s) is not showing in yours. maybe because its the shareware ...

yes.

with any hardware there is always the chance of an incompatability or conflict, but i would say you have about a 98% chance of it working fine..... what kind of SCSi host is it? i would just make sure there are drivers available for your OS.

well CoolJ, for reference i get 4088 with a 1.1GHz T-Bird on a KT7A-RAID with a 3D Prophet II Ultra 64MB. all OCd a bit... pushing the vidcard kinda hard, though. just a hint of artifacts. with all at default frequencies, i get a little over 3600.
