yes.

with any hardware there is always the chance of an incompatability or conflict, but i would say you have about a 98% chance of it working fine..... what kind of SCSi host is it? i would just make sure there are drivers available for your OS.

the first place i would check is the manufacturer. failing that, i would check some place like http://www.windrivers.com or http://www.driverguide.com .

you also have a chance of the drivers already being included in win2k. that (of course) would be the easiest.

let me take a look around to get more of a definitive answer.

I wasn't busy, so I searched the LSI site for them.

http://www.lsilogic.com/support/select/win2k.html

It's at the bottom of the page.

Have fun :)

After further reading, I see that the drivers for your SCSI controller are packaged with Win2K in a file called SYMC810.SYS

damn you again Norm!!!! must you beat me to the punch every time?!?!? and your greater knowlegde really puts a bur under my blanket!.... just messing around, man :) .

looks like you are golden, blue_mosquito. ideally the OS will auto-detect the controller and install the drivers for you. otherwise you have what you need.

Is your present SCSI controller ISA?
Is there an ISA slot on the new mobo?
If yes to both, then you don't need a PCI controller.

I enjoy the kidding around, thanks smaier69, it takes the monotony out of the tech stuff :)

blue_mosquit0o, you still with us here. If you're old SCSI card has a place on the new mobo (re: an ISA slot) Win2K install should go smooth.
