Linux app makes Xbox net gaming a reality

Next year's launch of Microsoft's network gaming service for Xbox has been pre-empted by an open source/Linux development, Xbox Gateway. Bill is no doubt absolutely ecstatic about this, but he can console himself with the thought that at least all the work XboxGW has put into the system is on the outside - the box itself remains unsullied by viral GPL-related stuff.

Hi smaier69

Yes it's been a bit. I do hope your feeling better lately.

i read with interest your Escape from the ink of death. :)

Glad it worked out for you.

The Benchmarks keep getting higher, the Comps. quicker and cost's tumbling.

I guess it's a good thing, but but how much further can they take it.

Me i'm lost long ago

Take care of Yourself

Minir...you have come up with so many articles that I almost forget my place in time...lol.

In any case...my comments.

viral???? how dare thet say that the GPL is viral lol...if it wern't for Linux and the open source movement...how would MS employ their monopolistic practices???...good article Minir.

Dubai??? I just came back from there recently and can say that they are striving to be the Internet capital of the world. It is really a beautiful city too. You would be in awe of their beach resorts. IMHO, the UAE should be the model country for all the middle east. Good find Minir.

I really dug the articles on modifying the XBox...good stuff.

Take care Larry! :D
