Yeah, and I can also report that adjusting the fragmentation threshold and RTS threshold did nothing to fix the problem for me... However it was a good suggestion.
Awesome, thanks for the update. If I ever get time to move my second machine closer to the WRT54G and connect directly to it rather than through the repeater I'll post here and let you know how it goes.
Thanks for the reply. No, I didn't try hooking both up to the WRT54G because I need one of the machines to be wireless, but I have long suspected that it is an issue with the linksys equipment. It seems to only be able to handle the large data stream for so long without choking.
I wish... I can stream Internet radio, such as XM, with only the occasional hiccup. But when it comes to sharing music with iTunes I get about 4 or 5 minutes in and then the connection drops. EVERY time...
I don't know if it is the equipment or iTunes or what. If anyone else has any input it would ...
Not sure if you have already gotten an answer to this question, but one thing you want to make sure is that you are using an 80 wire IDE cable to connect to the motherboard, or you will not get maximum writing speed out of the drive.
Sid, I found the following article extremely helpful when setting up my WRE54G: http://www.tomsnetworking.com/Sections-article90-page1.php
I still ended up calling Linksys tech support during the set up because my link light stayed red no matter what (supposedly meaning it was not connecting to ...
I have been trying to share my iTunes music library with another pc in my wireless network. The wireless pc is on the other side of my house, and is equipped with a wireless pci card. I have a WRT54G and a WRE54G in between the two pcs to form my wireless network.
I took back my 2.4 ghz phone and got the Panasonic 5.8 ghz. Spent probably too much money for the phone, but the phone is great (great reception, long range, etc.) and it does not interfere with my Linksys wireless router. Problem solved.
There were also phones in the 2.4 ghz range just coming out ...
I just upgraded my phone from 900 mhz (I know, the stone age) to a 2.4 ghz phone.
Now all of a sudden I'm dropping my wireless connection on my laptop and my network speed has even dropped. Seems like it has to be the phone operating on the same frequency as my router.
Cool, thanks! That makes alot of sense. I used to connect directly to my cable modem before I got the router, but I cannot remember if the performance was better or not. I will check it out and see.
I have a Linksys WRT54G router, with one desktop pc connected directly to the router and another desktop pc connecting with a wireless pci card downstairs. I also have a laptop that I work from home with that connects to the router over a wireless connection.
For Ulead Video Studio 6 (I don't know which version you have), you can:
If your video is already in mpeg2 format, you can go straight to the finish tab and jump to step 6, if not then: Start at the storyboard and import your video project, then move down to the film strip at the bottom Goto ...
That's a good point, but he said his laptop burner wasn't compatible with Nero for some strange reason. I have never had Nero not work with a burner....
If your flash button is a component, then you should be able to stick it on a page and edit the component properties in your properties bar at the bottom of the Dreamweaver interface.
If it is not a component, and you have the .fla file, you may have to pull it into Flash MX to edit.
In just a few words: you need to define your site in Dreamweaver before the preview function will work correctly. You don't have to define a remote site if you are using your local host as a web server. You may have to have IIS installed on your pc before you can have it act as a web server.
Is your path to the flash object a relative path? Is it in the same folder as the web page? Do you have a site set up within Dreamweaver with a remote site and testing site setup?
I ran into this just a few days ago with my father in laws computer. Exact same situation... would not create a startup disk, wanted the win98 cd installed, couldn't find the files on the cd.
I ended up just sticking the windows98 cd in, started reinstalling windows just up to the create startup ...
Thanks koldchillah and JackMDS. I used your advice and was able to get the file and print sharing set up between the win98 machine and the xp machine. Also the wireless issue I was having seems to have corrected itself, I am no longer dropping my connection. It's been a great learning experience for ...
Thanks for the tips, koldchillah, I'll try them tonight or tomorrow. I'll also take your advice on starting another thread if I don't get any more traffic on this one for the wireless issue.
Anybody here familiar with vCalendar? I have a couple of things I would like to do:
1) Create a .vcs file to remove an appointment from an Outlook calendar. I have figured out how to link to a .vcs file for people to add appointments to calendars, but I would like to be able to send a link in the ...
In addition to the above problem of still not being able to see any of the computers on the network, I also have a new problem:
I have also enabled WEP, and set the encryption to 128 bit. Now the laptop continually drops the wireless connection, and I have to keep reconnecting. Could this have ...
I've tried the above method, and still no luck. I can access the internet with both machines, but cannot see each other. No file or print sharing. Even had a guy suggest setting up the xp machine as the primary computer on the network, letting xp configure the 98 machine for networking, make a ...
