I have a Asus DRW-1608P and when I try to write a Pleomax DVD it first say's it takes 60 minutes (that means 1x), afthers 50 seconds it says it takes 15 minutes (that means 4x), but it still isen't 8x (that writes on the DVD), I use Sonic Home. Is the DVD incompatibile whit the Asus DVD-RW???
Not sure if you have already gotten an answer to this question, but one thing you want to make sure is that you are using an 80 wire IDE cable to connect to the motherboard, or you will not get maximum writing speed out of the drive.
