Background Image in word?

Post by lance-tek »

Is there a way to set a bg image in MS word where the image will be a layer? I do all kinds of concept creation for work. this one seems simple but isn't as easy for me as I had hoped.

The problem lies in this .....

The desired document type is a .doc the reason is so that the text can be updated by anyone easily. the problem is that they also want a bg image centered on the page 5" by 9" it is a B&W image of indiana with an emblem in the middle. as I stated it is only B&W. The reason it is B&W is that the printers are work are not color so color is irrelivant. This document will be the cover sheet for the office faxes. They want the user to be able to update on their computer and print then fax it with the document.

I pondered doing it in acccess as a form. I would love to just do an overlay on they copy machine with transparency. But then the user could not update the text on the puter that way.....

Please offer up any advice you can.

Check the word wrap options, I think there's something there to have the image behind the text.

Background Image in Word

Post by Guest »

I had to look this up so I thought I'd post a reply here, even though this question is old.

I'm using Microsoft Word 2002:

Format > Background > Printed Watermark...
Click "Picture Watermark" and "Select Picture".
Find the picture and decide whether to check "Washout" or not.
Apply > OK.

I then used a text box over the image.

Not recommended for a fax though as you are wasting ink at the recipient's end and my cause your fax to be illegible.
