Question, should the PPPoe DSL box be checked?

And, with my modem directly connected to my comp the MTU is 1492. But when going throug the router it is 1480. Is this how its supposed to be? My MTU in the router is set at 1492 (auto).

It is true. Look at any country compared to the US comparing the bandwith. Sweeden, Japan, Korea all have 100 Mbit ISP's for roughly at a price cheaper then average US DSL.

Its all the FCC's fault, with all the rules, regulations, and taxes....

You can always change your house's wiring to try to get better speeds/pings. But its too drastic for most users.
