No I am connecting through my dlink di-604 router
because i have 2 computers on it.
hmmm. weird not a lot of info on these modems or on MCI I'm not really impressed at all.
Also my log in my router shows it as recieving DHCP about every min or so is that normal??

Sorry this is such a pain Im a little stumped i had no problem with the cable tweaks even did my friends on fri but this dsl is new to me and my speed is about 1/2 of what they said it should be.

MCI>uu.net ??

I noticed that when I tracert I see uu.net as the server or router it gets to with my IP address. So is uu.net kept in covads premises here in OR. If so my distance is over 11,000 feet from them. That would limit my bandwidth right?
Im using MCI DSL I was told it was pppoa.

SO when i try the Ping test and it frags before 1472 I shouldn't worry about that?
also the SG tcp anylizer shows me at 1492 no matter what i try!

and what kind of dsl do I have??
I tried to set the router to PPPoe with the user name and password but it didn't connect so I set it like when I was on cable and it connected (dynamic no passwords or anything)
also when I ping to get my max MTU ...

MCI dsl

I am getting MCI dsl and was wondering what type of connection it uses. PPOE or dynamic or the such? (customer service seems lacking in knowledge)
Also I was wondering what the settings for the VPI and the VCI are Ive seen that i am able to adjust those .

Ok first I picked up a Cisco 675 DSL modem for 5 bucks and I was wondering if it may work with my MCI DSL that is a week behind schedule?

I had the hitachi 120 gig hd (they bought out IBM's hd technology)anyway mine did that to then all of a sudden it croaked when I returned it for a replacement I was told the heads were crashing that is what that noise is

real simply i open the ports on my router and this program i run needs a udp and a tcp port I set it. tcp go through but not udp so i think the router is blocking udp some how so i put my computer in the dmz still i cannot send or recieve udp packets so I do a port scan in dmz and it has the ports ...
