Sorry that post made no sense!
What is SOHO exactly?
and what kind of dsl do I have??
I tried to set the router to PPPoe with the user name and password but it didn't connect so I set it like when I was on cable and it connected (dynamic no passwords or anything)
also when I ping to get my max MTU setting the dns server is ok with 1472 but anything else is only good at 1464 why is that?
I tried to talk to MCI when I first signed up. It was pretty much a waste of my time
my isp is mci
supposed to be 1500/256

Wait what is ur make and model of modem

if it's the model think it is your modem is a router built in or what is also known as a brouter.

Ok since i think it's brouter your modem is connecting the username and password so your router doesn't have to.

No I am connecting through my dlink di-604 router
because i have 2 computers on it.
hmmm. weird not a lot of info on these modems or on MCI I'm not really impressed at all.
Also my log in my router shows it as recieving DHCP about every min or so is that normal??
and is there any ports or any settings I should have open for it because sometimes it says
Jan/29/2004 01:19:00 Drop TCP packet from WAN 24.68.***.***:3528 63.**.***.79:901 Rule: Default deny
thanks

Follow this guide on all your computers http://www.speedguide.net/read_articles.php?id=177

also make sure your router's firmware is up to date also in internet exploer type 192.168.0.1 login into your router dlink has a feature not sure exactly what menu it's under that saids discard wan ping make sure it's disabled.

See if ur speeds pick up after all that.

TCP options string = 020405ac01010402
MTU = 1492
MTU is optimized for PPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising MTU to 1500 for optimal throughput.
MSS = 1452
MSS is optimized for PPPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising MTU to 1500 for maximum throughput.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 63888
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 63888

RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
511104 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
255552 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
127776 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
bandwidth * delay product:

Your RcvWindow limits you to: 2555.52 kbps (319.44 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 1022.208 kbps (127.776 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON
Time to live left = 50 hops

TTL value is ok.
Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
IP type of service field (RFC1349) = 01011100

Precedence (priority) = 100 (flash override)
Delay = 1 (low delay)
Throughput = 1 (high throughput)
Reliability = 0 (normal reliability)

SG speed test says 0.291Mbps (291kbps,36KBps)

::: Download Stats :::
Connection is: 749 Kbps about 0.7 Mbps (tested with 579 KB)
Download Speed is: 91 KB/sec
Auth Code: 2011236 (validate a http://www.testmy.net)
Bottom Line: 13 times faster than 56K you can download 1MB in 11.25 second(s)
Validation Link :: http://testmy.net/cgi-bin/auth_check.cg ... 4285714286

my nic driver is updated and my router firmware is updated
