I went to check on the DC cuz none of the computers had internet i noticed that dhcp enabled was set to no so i knew something was wrong...I went to reboot the server and after the windows 2003 logo i get a black screen and it just hangs on that black screen so i drop it into safe mode and it still ...

What kind of network and devices are we talking about? Is this a domain running Windows server, or just a peer-to-peer network?

Also are the shared drives on a PC that someone else is using and might be shutting down? Could it be power configurations putting the PCs that the drives and printers ...

Disconnected from LAN?

Hey we have a small company here and I only see it with one user because he leaves his computer on all the time. It disconnects him from the shared drives and wont allow him to use the shared printers after a period of i dunno 12 hours. Is there any way I can set something on the network like this ...

wew if i saw this topic early I'd prolly changed my mine ballistix looked like a great choice.

I went with the Redline I'm stuck at a 237 FSB @ 2.8ghz Memory is running @ 237 mhz Divider 1/1 (200)
when I up it to 238 it crashes I'm pretty sure it has to do something with my ram settings.

4800x2 overclock (watercooled)

Now that i got my system running i tinkered a bit and got it to 2.8ghz want to push it further but what settings would u recommend for my ram?

dfi sli dr
(ocz titanium 2 gigs) i know it's not the best for overclocking but should be able to go pretty far... at 2.8ghz the temps were 26 degrees ram ...

i got it working i reformated, disabled wakeonlan, than when i plugged the ethernet cable in the computer i left the cable modem powered down than gave it a hard reset and it works!

blah i got everything fixed except the onboard LAN...

it recognizes both but when i put a network jack it issues an ip of something like 168.xxx.xxx.x takes forever to assign an ip and can't get on the internet...
having the same problem with both ...

the cat5 works on my other cpu cuz thats the one im using now I noticed though if i unplug something from the back it may cause it to shutdown the thing i noticed in the beginning was that in the bios it says

"CMOS checksum error"
which means the battery needs to be replaced?

can't seem to get the network jacks working this is soo wierd and annoying
i even moved the network cable from one jack (dual nics) to another and the whole cpu shutdown ?????

I'm up and running but have a couple problems with the onboard LAN and the ram is not being read right...

In need of an isp for a laptop like this I can access the internet wirelessly through dial up basically looking for a datacard of somewhat relative to the US area... Whom would you go with?
