i am have a winsocket problem i have no idea what it is but its preventing me from using the internet everything shows up fine but when i called cablevision for tech support he determend it was a winsocket prob and gave me a spot to look for help in microsoft knowledge base but it not helping me ...

i know they were for xp but there is no download for windows installer says it comes with your micro soft product so now do i uninstall service pack 1 since i installed that after i bought xp will that work, on the link u sent me it gives u a way to try to reinstall it or says regester windows ...

well i have service pack1 that i installed after i had windows but that was long time ago i think me playing with registry some how deleted this file or what ever it is i am always playing with things

i think i am missing the file windows installer i checked micro soft downloads there is a download for installer but not for windows xp now i am realizing that i have been having trouble installing and removing programs anyone know were i can find this

i did that i unchecked that and cleaned everything out problem is not only is it doing it on iexplorer but when i open reg programs also

i tried ad were, spy bot all of them the box keeps coming even when i try opening programs it says windows installer preparing to install stays up for bout 3 secs then the program opens

i did a system restore now what i get is when i open iexplorer or aol instant messg. or when i am on the web and certain sites and i click on a link a box pops up says windows installer takes about 5 secs then the page opens

there is some kind of program that keeps trying to install itself when i open internet explorer i looked everywere for it i used reg clean, spybot but cant find it how do i find it or stop it...

i keep getting this mess every time the computer starts says 'the instruction at "0x10017ef4" referenced memory at "0x01328000". the memory could not be "read", then the box behind that says run a dll an app has encountered a problem

that was the problem it was in spybot had to uncheck it was set to lock homepage thank u

ok that worked isearch dont open to its homepage just one more problem under ie tools internet options to set the homepage its locking me out i cant click on the box to type in my home page?

i got this stupid isearch on my ie explore cant get it out tried removal software i tred cleaning the reg it keeps coming back and it locks me out from changing my homepage back to what it was.... help

i have it saved on my external hard drive and when in safe mode it does not show my ex hard drive plus i am not good with dos lingo to deleate it...

i downloaded a video and when i try to play it, it freezes up the computer uses 100% of cpu so i try to delete it after i restart it keeps saying can not delete being used by another program... now i have everything closed i tryed under task manager to close everything, i did msconfig so nothing ...

the only problem is that thisis my office and i had an outside it guy he is not on staff here and i got rid of him so i thought there might be somthing i can do to unblock it on the server cause i dont know how long till i find a new guy

hi i had an amd 2200 ath. and in my bios i had memory speed settings of 166 and 200 at the bios flash page at startup when i set it to 166 it said memory speed 333 and when set to 200 it said memory speed 400 ok now i just installed an amd 2800 ath. with barton core fsb333 now i lost the memory ...

again my prob is not when the ide is hooked up its now when i unplug the ide it wont let me back into the sata drive it some how changed the configuration after installing xp on the ide drive i trying to find out what it changed.

i spent 2 hours with microsoft and an hour with abit tech support seems when i install xp on the 2 drive (ide) it changes somthing in the boot config the problem is no one at microsoft or abit knows what it is so just letting anyone out there know were i am up too.... thanks

ok i installed win xp home on my sata 150 drive without anything else hooked up work perfect.. now i have a 2nd drive i hooked it up its an ide drive set as master ide. now i installed windows xp home also on that drive as a back up so i can have acess in case of anything but mostly use it for ...

fella go slow i got it i played around with it and remembered what i did last time its very very simple this line:

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition" /fastdetect

u just simply copy the whole line and paste it right under that line and were it says rdisk ...
