I have a similar setup here at my office. I have to enter in the firewall address into the proxy settings in my IM applications in order for it to be able to connect. Except with AOL, I just need to set it to look at port 21 and it connects just fine. Ask your IT admin.

Check and see (in your router/firewall config) whether port 5190 is allowed outbound.

It's hard to tell from your description, but does the server you mention function as a proxy?

You may be able to find the proxy settings in your browser - for IE: Tools>InternetOptions>Connections>LAN Settings

If there are no rules on the router preventing http browsing, this may not help.

Gotcha - so the server is not a proxy.

I would therefore have to assume that outbound port 5190 is blocked at your firewall. You'll need to setup access rules to allow this traffic.

Down below...when you see "Auto detect settings"...down beneath where it says "Proxy Settings"...there is nothing filled in?

Since it is at work you need to talk to your IT people and see if they are blocking the ports needed for these apps to access the net. A lot of businesses do since they are trying to have a secure network.

Do you have administrative access to your router/firewall? what is the make and model?
