can not delete

i downloaded a video and when i try to play it, it freezes up the computer uses 100% of cpu so i try to delete it after i restart it keeps saying can not delete being used by another program... now i have everything closed i tryed under task manager to close everything, i did msconfig so nothing opening when i restart i looked everywere to see if anything running nothing that i know of is running, now i cant even right click on the video to get to properties it freezes up any time i click on this stupid file.. i tryed to delete it under safe mode but its on my external drive and that wont show up in safe mode.... thanks

Well I have seen this a few times on clients pcs and haven't figured out how to remove it. :(

There was a thread here a while back about the same thing and I think Norm had a possible fix or alteast something to try. You might try PMing Norm and ask him.

Boot into safe mode by hitting F5 at bootup, then go to your command prompt and browse to the file, then use the del command to delete it.

If you still get an error I've seen files like that go away after reboot.

i have it saved on my external hard drive and when in safe mode it does not show my ex hard drive plus i am not good with dos lingo to deleate it...

Install it, and then right click the file you want deleted, and select "Delete file on next boot"

word of widsom use mirc to get smut don't use kazza or any p2p mirc is lot safer that there isn't usally viruses or spyware that comes with the goods.


I use to have an fserve off of mirc that was years ago.
