sata 150 startup prob...

Post by ralphie13 »

ok i installed win xp home on my sata 150 drive without anything else hooked up work perfect.. now i have a 2nd drive i hooked it up its an ide drive set as master ide. now i installed windows xp home also on that drive as a back up so i can have acess in case of anything but mostly use it for storage.. and that went perfect as well.. i did the boot config so at startup i have a choice to which os on which drive i want to acess and that went perfect.. now my prob is if i disconect my ide drive i can no longer acess the sata 150 drive it keeps saying sys disk error boot from cd i have the bios set right. does any one know y this is happening. oh and when i plug the ide back in it works again fine...

Did you try setting the IDE drive as slave and see if that do anything?
