You MAY be able to avoid it by using a public proxy server.......but not everything will work well through a proxy. What hop is that router in your route? Just guessing, but since your're in Ohio and you're using roadrunner that host looks like it's your default gateway, if that's the case, there's ...

I have a T1 line that I want to share wirelessly with my neighbors. I have checked with my provider and I won't be breaking any of their policies in doing this. My concern is with p2p file sharing. Hello all,

I have a Cisco PIX 501 firewall with 3DES set up at a location that I VPN to via Cisco VPN Client 3.5.1.
I can connect to the site just fine, even remotely control desktops via pcAnywhere, but what I can't do is use the Internet from the VPN client machine.
First, let me tell you about ...

Now that you brought it up I'm going to look in to putting a temp server to process logins at the branch office to see what that might do.

Hard drives wouldn't be feasable. They're way too sensitive. People who take offsite backups with them leave them in cars, toss them in a purse, leave them in a lunch cooler, expose them to all kinds of nasty things.
A hard drive is way to sensitive to live in that type of environment.

Routers are made to segment a network, meaning they break it in to smaller, more managable segments. They also reduce the amount of broadcast traffic in a large LAN. The most important thing for the home user is they use NAT.

Anyway, ALL routers behind a gateway (the one connected to the Internet ...
