Used to be able to do this on NT systems, I think you can still do it with XP systems since they are build on the NT platform, but if use a bootdisk to the get the SAM file off the computer you should be able to use a utility to get the password out of there...

Sounds like you either have too many network cards, or have just hooked it up the wrong way...try wiring it as above, then try getting an address....

you could rename the SSID on your connection, in the router setup, and then you would be able to tell the difference between the two of them and see which one you are actually connected to.

memory problem

I seem to be having a problem in XP Pro. I have 512MB of RAM which is sufficient most of the time for what I need to do, but when I run programs and the amount of RAM free drops, it never seems to go back up to what it was before I started using the computer. Most of the time this isnt a problem ...

To measure transfer speeds between computers such as in this situation use a program such as Analog X's Netstat live.

http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/network/nsl.htm

Use this on the recieving PC and it will tell you the recive rate. You can choose to view the speeds in MegaBITS or ...

OK so here is the deal. I am on a college network. The computer worked fine up until two days ago when all of a sudden it started going haywire.

AOL and AIM will not work at all. They just hang and never connect. AIM always says is unable to connect and AOL just hangs at connecting by TCP/IP. Any ...

There are a few things that I can think of that can be done. In some ways this is kind of cheap, but you can untweak the registry settings of the computers that you want to have limited bandwidth so that they wouldnt not be able to use as much speed. Another option would be if the two computers you ...

1500 is the normal size that you would set it to, but if you had a PPPoE connection than you would need to set it to 1492.

edit: I missed the part where you said you had cox. In that case, as was already said, set it to 1500
