Usually they will upgrade you to HD for free - but there may be a fee for the new set top box (it's required) anywhere from 100 to 200 dollars. Some providers also have a 6-10 dollar a month HD access fee.

There are some people who use CRT's by choice - but the general argument for TV's and monitors is no longer refresh rates, it's black levels. Only plasma and high end LED TV's have reach CRT black levels.

I do still lurk occasionally, just spend more time on AVSforum and AV123forum these days than anywhere else, life has become busy with school ...

I got the 550's for 400 dollars, it was a great deal. MLS is a great guy to deal with, I've had the pleasure of dealing with him on the phone for my B-stock MFW-15. All of them are amazing folks. Mark Seaton is also fantastic, such talent for sub design and cabinet building. Count me happy.

Massa, are you one of the lucky few that has power?

I hope everything is fine, seen it on the news and it appears that the area received some wide spread damage.

We are lucky here. Power went out on both sides of us but our line stayed intact. Had some high water levels and a few downed trees ...
