I'm running into the same problems. Where can I find a DNS address? Someone gave me one but it's in the east coast and I live in the west coast. Should I just use that DNS or find another one that's close?

I'm going to be away for 5 days.

Is it OK to unplug my cable modem and leave it off until I come back?

I have @Home.

Does anyone know what their download and upload limits are?

My friend and I are having a little debate on which brand of NICs are better.

I say 3Com and Intel are better.
He says 3Com and D-Link.

Now that AT&T is raising the montly fee should I get my own cable modem like the Toshiba PCX1100 and save $10/month, or stay with @Home's rented Motorola modem?
