Buissness cable also has a 2gig upload a month limit, but a 10gig download instead of 5.

Hardware or software firewall solution?

I'm running web/exchange server. Windows 2000 server, Exchange 2000 server, SQL server 7.0. I have resently had some DoS attacks that lasted 3-4days. What would be my best and cheapest option for a firewall? The server is behind a Netgear RT314.

Yeah it works with the internal ip it's just a pain in the butt. What I don't understand is that I never had this problem with my Linksys router.

Well a few people where having the problem. It applys to some and not to others. One guy got it to work by doing ftp://test:test@dittohost.com but using cute ftp pro, it wouldn't work for him. The others I haven't contacted yet.

Even with the freesco router, it still does the list error thing. What port should I use? I would really like the use 21 since it's the default ftp port.

People still get the error "ERROR 425 Can't open data connection" when they try to connect to me. And I have the new 1.38 beta firmware.

Any ideas.

Well it does it with IIS 5.0's ftp serive, with g6ftp server and serv-u. I know for a fact that its not the server's configuration.

I'll try out the 1.38 firmware see if that helps.

dslreports.com is inaccurate!

It says my download speed is 298kbps. But I get 100KB/sec+ on 80% of the download servers out there. So that would be 800kbps. If it was truely accurate it would say 800. But I have never seen it give me a higher result then 450. and the avrage is 300. The upload test is almost always right.

Linksys BEFSR41 router, and ftp server.

I'm running a ftp server behind my linksys router. Every thing is configured right, the settings are right the port is fowarded to the right place. BUT some people can't connect to my server even if they enable passive mode. It connects, but it doesn't list the directorys.

Anyone have any ideas on ...

I'm just woundering if there is a way to let the linksys router redect the ping packets to a computer on the inside lan so people can ping me.

How would I go about setting these up so that if the primary goes down then the back up server will automatically pick up, and that every file that is created on the primary server gets duplicated on the back up server?

Ok, correction. On my hub it says "10/100 dual speed SOHO hub with switch". It's a D-Link DSH-8 hub. It also says this on the D-Link 10/100 16port hubs at work.

I use it with my Linksys router. Yes it works great, I don't see how it's a switch though. I'm running 7 pc and soon to be an 8th one, but I'm running half of them at the other end of my house only on a 10mbps hub until I upgrade. I'll probably get the same hub.

I can ping one of my friends on cable that lives about 15min from me at 10ms, but if I ping my cable company (cgocable) I get like 60-80ms. Hows this?
