It says my download speed is 298kbps. But I get 100KB/sec+ on 80% of the download servers out there. So that would be 800kbps. If it was truely accurate it would say 800. But I have never seen it give me a higher result then 450. and the avrage is 300. The upload test is almost always right.
For some it's accurate, for others it's not. It depends on the time of day, your route and proximity of the servers. I have found two of the three servers to be very accurate. The third is understandably not accurate b/c it is on the east cost, while I'm on the west coast.
Glc1 Is right! I also think it could be the distant you are from it. Try finding one closer to your area and compare. This might help you out. But do it on the off times. Like real late at night.
Hey, what's wrong with the MSN speedtest? I have no problems with it at all... It's self-affirming in a Stewart Smalley-esque way. O.K., it's not particularly accurate but I kind of see it like breast implants. Totally unreal, but kind of nice to look at with awe and wonder for awhile!
DSLr has inaccurate downstream measuring. It says Im running 2800kbps on downstream, when infact I can go do any site and do 5+mbps easily. The upstream measuring is pretty accurate.
