i think there's a couple of pppoe managers for mac... so dsl works... and there's dsl that doest use pppoe and should work on any os dat has tcp/ip... u can also get a router with built in pppoe and jus use dhcp to connect the modem to the router and use dsl...

i get around 170KB/sec steady... i got rogers hi-speed 1500/192 on a Ericsson Piperider hm200c docsis modem
i used 2 get 300+kB/sec steady @ all times b4 they cut our speeds in 1/2 from 3000/384

damn mikey those r some low pings... i never thought dsl can ping so low... most users ping around 13-19ms on fastpath... and like 50+ on interleaved... i ping 5-7ms on my cable... im on a ericsson piperider hm200c cable modem... neway thorz ur pings are still good... most cable customers on my isp ...

rogers used to be 3000/384... they cut speeds in half to 1500/192
i have a ericsson piperider modem and i ping around 7ms to my 1st hop... my speeds are 1250/200...
rogers screws over lots of customers... i suggest switching to a dsl company... u can find alot of them on http://www.canadianisp.com

yea my hops time out from 4-8 unless i ping them with packets under 45bytes... i use visualroute and u can set the packet size and pings per hop so i just trace with 32byte packets now i can see all the hops... my packet loss was almost gone last nite... it seems to be back to "normal" now

mine starts at the first hop...
i talked to some guy on the rbua.org forums and he said he got a honest answer from a rogers tech... he said alot of the gateways are fried... i dun know exactly what it means and i'm not on the same isp as u but since adelphia is broke i ...

u have to use pop.bloor.phub.net.cable.rogers.com and smtp.bloor.phub.net.cable.rogers.com because ur computer doesnt use rogers' dns servers when ur behind a router so pop and smtp r invalid adresses

i got 3 network cards off rogers till now... lol

There are some isp's u should consider, they all resell bell's dsl but u get router thru their own backbone not bell's and the're all unlimited bandwidth

i live in scarboro too... the not so ghetto area... neway rogers is garbage for most users... they cut our speeds in 1/2 without even telling us... we went from 3000/384 to 1500/192... is bull****... u shouldnt've bought a new NIC... its pointless... its a problem at rogers' end... even calling tech ...

u'll get more help here... ur phub is highly congested... u should call rogers and ask them for a docsis modem... the docsis cmts's are almost empty cuz they were only installed like a few months ago... u'll get better pings and way better speeds
