Thanks, Stonecat. I saw in my modem's setup page that it still was listing my old router's MAC address. I rebooted the cable modem and it is now picking up the Linky's MAC address. All is well now.

Thanks!

Linksys BEFSR41 v2 Question

I'm on Adelphia in Scranton, PA. Originally had a Sohoware router, but it died on me and I replaced it with a Linksys BEFSR41 version 2.

Everything went well with the setup. I also upgraded the firmware to 1.44.2. My problem is that... every morning, I can't surf the internet. When I go into the ...

Hello,

I have a laptop that I use at work. It's a Dell Latitude Pentium 233 machine and has Win 95 on it. I use it to connect both at work and at home (using my cable modem and VPN). I decided to install the cable modem tweaks and my cable speed is amazing (2800 on Adelphia, which has a 3000 max ...

Tweaking 56k and Cable Modem

Hi all!

I used the TCP Optimizer to optimize my cable modem connection (I'm now getting 2.8 meg/sec!). My only problem is that it also changed my settings for my dial-up connection.

How can I optimize my dial-up connection (to my company's server) without changing my cable modem settings?

I have a question on using it: Since I sometimes have to dial into my work server from home, how do I optimize both my dialup and cable connections? Looks like when I optimize for cable, my dialup adapters are changed to cable settings.
