XP Remote Assistance: Troubleshoot ques

Post by Technoid »

Anyone used Remote Assistance?
I ("expert" running XP home ed) upon accepting an invitation to help friend ("novice" running XP Pro) got error message.....
connection failed, "could not resolve host name".
I am on cable behind a linksys router running NAT. Novice is on straight dialup.

Thoughts/ideas?

Thanks in advance,
stumped

I wonder if -
its because of NAT on the router, OR
if I add them to my workgroup it would work.
????????????????????

Works with NAT, port 3389 if you're host.
