I need to know how to get this beast cooler. Does anyone know of any good watercooling systems or simple air cooling systems that work better than two side fans? I'm ripping my hair out here trying to run this thing at a reasonable temperature.

Im trying speedfan but it won't keep my fan spinning at the highest...even tho I set it to 100%min and 100%max. I wonder if there is something better out there.Mark wrote:you can also set in speedfan where the warnings will showup, i don't know how hot them chips run, but ya check for dust bunnies and make sure all fans are blowing, maybe a bad one in there ?
For a customer who bought a 3.2 from me I used this one. Its nice and quiet and it kept it cooler64bit wrote:That is not really bad at all for a prescott at 100%. If your that worried I'd look into fixing your cables inside for max air flow. How warm is room temperature? If you want a good HS&F thought I would suggest the Zalman 7700-CU 120
Gracias. Does that also govern the CPU fan speed ?Mark wrote:i have tried all kinds of system monitors, te one i am currently using and like is called systool
free download and it tells me everything i need to know, doesn't use much memory and is stable.

i just installed one of those last nite on my main system, i had to bend a few heatpipes to clear the heatsink on my video card and the system memory, but it barely does fit my mobo.thepieman wrote:For a customer who bought a 3.2 from me I used this one. Its nice and quiet and it kept it cooler
Intel P4 LGA775
Intel P4 478 Prescott FMB1.5
AMD Athlon 64 / Athlon 64 FX
AMD Athlon XP up to 3400+
AMD Sempron up to 3400+ and it requires the removal of the motherboard to be installed. Not good if you have Big/Tall capacitors near the cpu

Not a bad looking tool but it doesnt seem to detect but a handful of boards. Ill have to try those generic settings if I get a chance.Mark wrote:i have tried all kinds of system monitors, te one i am currently using and like is called systool

Do you have a free shipping code for that site? 41.75 for the fan and $9.85 for UPS ground. Would be good if they offer free shipping for future use. The Zipzoomfly price of 51 bucks is with 2nd day Fedex which is pretty fast.Mark wrote:i just installed one of those last nite on my main system, i had to bend a few heatpipes to clear the heatsink on my video card and the system memory, but it barely does fit my mobo.
still working on a new duct system for the fesh air intake, that heatsink is very tall and i am using a 120mm x 38mm fan that is mounted to the side panel instead of the stock fan, i hate the orange colour of it![]()
it is a pain to install with the mobo in the case, so i made 2 rods and used 2 nuts to secure it instead of the supplied screws, much easier as there was no way i was going to beable to reach the screws.
i got mine from http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?name=FAN-CLP114, alittle cheaper priced.

ya i think maybe they had a better deal when i ordered mine,i paid about $51 shipped with a tube of ceramique (sp) thermal paste as well not sure really, on my mobo i was able to use the msi factory heatsink bracket that is on the back off the mobo, not all boards are the same i guess.thepieman wrote:Do you have a free shipping code for that site? 41.75 for the fan and $9.85 for UPS ground. I thought to mount that fan you had to take the Mobo completely out to put in the shims and stuff for mounting? I went through all that for nothing! lol

I have been running with the side off. My room temperature is ~70 degrees, though I opened my window a bit and let it drop to ~60 with the cold air flowing in. The CPU temp went from 151 to 150. With the side -on-, I was running 160+.Bouncer wrote:Additionally, overall case cooling is important. You may want to consider simply running with the side off, or, if that's not feasable, at least drilling holes in the side for increased airflow.
After we finish replying they will probably move it to the Hardware forum.sito wrote:Hardware Forum? I kid, just find it funny how sometimes threads like these are allowed in the General Forum and sometimes not. Hmmmm
