XP remote desktop

I know its possible to remote to xp desktop while the user is logged in so i can show him/her how to do stuff .. when i connect it from my computer it says remote assistance is disable by the administrator ? i'm one of the admins

To my knowledge, Remote Desktop must log off the current user prior to accepting a remote connection. I've never heard of it being able to do what you're trying to do.

Try using messenger and have the user ask you for assistance - that will give you control much like pc anywhere.

Remote Assistance is like Remote Desktop but like Netmeeting. The user can see what you are doing and can stop or give control to you.

right click on my computer-----> properties then go to the remote tab, and make sure allow connections is checked.

If both of you are behind firewalls/routers remote assistance won't work. You'll need to forward a port, even then you'll be lucky if it connects.

For this type of assistance I recommend DameWare. Although you still need to forward a port if they have a NAT IP.
