I tried searching the forum, but couldnt find what i was looking for. Anyway does someone know of an article to modify a computer power supply to be used as a 12v dc power source outside of the computer? I know it already puts out 12v but how do i get the ps to turn on? thanks

why are you messing with fiber, it doesnt move data any faster then plain old wire, it does however have the ability to carry more data at any given time. example:
if you have a 1 inch diameter pipe at 1 psi it will move x amount of water. a pipe of 10 inches diameter at 1 psi will move more water ...

are you using usb or a ethernet connection?
if you are using an ethernet connection, make sure you are using the proper cable. you need a straight through cable, not a crossover cable.

I just had dsl installed. I was wondering if it would be of any benefit to install new cat5 or cat5e cable from the computer to the box outside my house or am i wasting my time?
