MPEG-2 isn't free last time I checked. You can make a VCD if your DVD player supports them, it's cheaper than burning a DVD with a video that small. Eo-Video supports WMVs.

Cheapest ram for shuttle's MK20N

I've checked a few spots and its usually 80 bucks for 1 stick of 256 133. I don't shop that much for hardware, so id like to know if there are any better deals/stores other than crucial and kingston?

3. There is NO distro that will not drive you ...

For a beginner you should try knoppix, which can be installed on to your harddrive easily, and comes with alot of stuff already installed.

Divx decoding Xvid

I was banned from an IRC channel because I stated that it can. I remember having the generic mpeg4 support on and divx decoding an xvid video. Am I wrong?

most of the time the image file is larger than the actual cd, so a 720mb image could turn out to be around 650 after burning.

No, i think i found the problem on the nero site. After 3 cdws (all froze) i checked the site and it mentioned that having the DMA on can cause crashes and hangs, so i switched it off and burnt a cd and it worked. So hopefully it will stay that way.
