When I insert a blank cd and select "burn files to disc using windows explorer", I don't get a dialog box asking how I want the disk formatted. With a dvd, I do. Ergo, I can't copy files to a cd. Can anyone help? (Win 7)

Have you installed all your Microsoft updates, including cumulative updates for IE?

Whenever I try to access a video or photo in "The Fan" on the comcast web page, I get an error message saying that IE has encountered a problem and needs to shut down. I also get a detail:

All of a sudden, my computer will not access my home page (comcast.net). The address line just continually flashes and the progress bar moves but the page won't load. Other web pages are normal. If I change my home page, the new page loads ok. (Acer laptop, Win7) Any ideas???

:mad: I don't like using 3rd party mouse/keyboard drivers, I've had issues with them, always prefer to use the built in Windows drivers support.

I'd suspect that your issue is related to something in the browser, perhaps some malware. Or video/resolution related.

I recently started having a problem with the optical mouse on my laptop. Whenever the mouse is moved over any margin on a webpage, it freezes. Left clicking will unfreeze it only until it gets to another margin where it will freeze again. Has anyone heard of this ? have a solution?

With service packs...
*Make sure the system is clean before installing as service pack. If the system has a virus or some malware....service pack installs can go wonky.
*Updated BIOS and drivers sometimes helps with older systems

I've generally always had good experiences with service packs ...

I tried to load SP3 and a bunch of other updates and it completely trashed my comp. It took me days to repair the drive and find my files.(all over the drive) It still isn't 100%, does quirky things.

How can I load all the updates without this? What could be wrong?

When you say "accounts'...are you talking about computer user accounts, or e-mail accounts at your ISP?

What are the e-mail settings of OE and WM? Hard to know why this is going on without knowing the exact setup.

I have two accounts on two computers. One is XP, the other is Vista. When an email is sent from either account to the other, it is received by both accounts, both at the server and in Outlook Express and Windows mail. ??????

Is the wireless print server on a static IP?
Is each of the XP and the Vista machines printing directly to the printers IP address? Because mixing XP and Vista as far as sharing a printer from one...often doesn't work, OS's 'n drivers too different.

Setting up network on new comp. I thought I set everything for networking with existing printer on old comp but not working. You won't see that option on the IE icon on your desktop. The IE icon on your desktop isn't a shortcut it's a custom system icon. As far as I know "Run Maximized" is only an option for shortcuts to programs.
